We use recycled cotton
All our new collections are made using recycled cotton. We believe recycled fibers are one of the best ways to be sustainable while creating garments. Recycled cotton diverts waste from landfills, reduces carbon footprint & saves water during fiber production.

Every I <3 Mom T-Shirt saves over 800 gallons of water and uses no harsh chemicals or toxins that pollute water supplies.
Clothing Recycling Program
When you are done with one of our closed loop garments, and wish to get rid of your piece (this could be years in the future) The QR-code tag can be scanned to order FREE return envelopes to send back your clothing article to have another new life. A truly closed loop system that diverts textile waste from landfills and greatly extends the life of apparel.
Safe working conditions
Majority of our manufacturers & their partners are in Canada & the United States. Our manufacturers are required to present valid certifications and/or documentation to prove that they are adhering to international labour laws and standards, have fair labour practices, provide safe working conditions, and treat all workers with dignity and respect. At the MiaMaplesMarket we do not tolerate unsafe workspaces.
We do NOT individually wrap clothing articles in plastic
Have you ever ordered clothing and noticed how every single piece is packed in its own plastic bag? We believe this is incredibly unnecessary, and produces a LOT of unwanted plastic. Instead we opt to protect your garments all together in one mailing bag. It looks and feels like plastic, but it's not. Not even close. It is a home-compostable shipping mailer and is made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable) and 20-30% PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch).
In a commercial compostable environment, it will break-down within 90 days. At home, it may take up to 120 days. The pink compostable mailers are waterproof and act just like plastic in the shipping process, so you won’t have to worry about anything damaging the integrity of your package. Not to mention, they look really cute! Who doesn’t love PINK?!

These scrunchies are made from fabric that would normally be thrown in the garbage. When companies cut patterns they often end up with mass amounts of extra fabric scraps, and nothing to do with them so they are thrown in the garbage. We believe these scrunchies are an awesome way to take that extra fabric and give it a purpose! Scrunchies don’t need much fabric so they are the perfect way to reuse these scraps!
FSC Certified 100% Post-Consumer Waste Paper
When choosing our paper source, we make sure we are selecting the best option for you and our planet! This is why we use 100% post consumer waste paper - This means that the entire paper item is made from previously recycled paper products.
Our products where you will see this paper ranges from the adorable Weekly Planner, to the paper backing of our pins, and even the paper loop packaging on our scrunchies!
These paper items also feature the added bonus of being made in the U.S.A and being printed with algae & vegetable inks! By using these sustainable inks, we can ensure the avoidance of harsh inks and chemicals leaching into our environment!
Being a small business
No big warehouse for us, we are a small business! Our operation takes place in a townhouse basement. We store & ship everything ourselves. We always launch LIMITED quantities in each collection, to ensure we can sell every piece. Over producing pieces that won’t sell creates waste, which is never a good thing. So we avoid that at all costs by aiming low with quantities.
